New New New
Things are fast changing over here :)
This is my first week coping with a new helper. My ex-helper, my very first one, went back last Monday. We sent her off at the airport. Well, I guess I have some emotions for her departure. But come to think of it, if her heart is not here anymore, there's no point continuing her service. After I told her to leave, she stayed with me for more than a month. For those days, I can see that she's very happy everyday, not much day dreaming. When she's happier, my ABC were happier too. I am grateful for that.
For about two weeks, Bernice and Charlene slept with her at nite. They woke up in the middle of the nite and walked to sleep on her bed. I guess they knew that she's leaving. When we were going to the airport, she hugged Bernice and cried. Bernice followed wailing out loud wanting me to carry her in the car. I had no choice and carried both Bernice and Charlene till we reached the airport. My ABC were conditioned a week before her departure, hence they knew that they will be saying "bye bye" to aunty at the airport, and aunty is going back to Myanmar. At the airport, I bought her two mooncakes, and 3 small little cakes for ABC to give to her. It was her birthday on Tuesday. Before she went in the immigration, I gave her a hug and asked her to take care, she cried. Tears welled up in my eyes too. My ABC asked me "mama, why aunty tt cry?" I dunno how to answer them.
After sending my ex-helper off, we sent the gals to JB before the new helper comes in. Aloysius stayed with me, while the gals stayed in JB. They cried on the first nite, looking for mummy to sleep with them. Aloysius adapting well with the new helper. I have the luxury to arrange in such a way that she get used to the routine in phases. She will get used to play with Aloysius first before the gals come back this weekend. I am satisfied with the new helper so far. She's young, walks fast, do things fast. She has a faith, which I am looking for. And she's from Myanmar. Going to the temple is a daily affair for her. Why I choose someone with a faith, is because she will be looking after my kids. With a strong faith in God, whatever bad things she thinks of doing to my kids, she will think again. And most importantly, we can communicate! She can read to Aloysius too. She's creative and dynamic and can teach Aloysius to draw :) I interviewed her over the phone before I chose her. My agent recommended her to me too that she can speak pretty good English. I told the agent that I will not have the time to be patient in trying to communicate with the new helper. So far, I am happy.
Ok gotta go... Next blog will be we are shifting to Toa Payoh in a few months' time :)
