Wow... Long time...

Hello blogspot,
Wow.. It has been some time ago since I have written. hmm... Let me recall what had happened.
On 13 Jan 05, it's Terence's birthday. We went out for dinner some where. Initially, I thought of going to Blu at Shangrila or Raffles grill. It's the last birthday celebration before our joy joins in next year... lol... So I wanted a very nice and romantic dinner togather. In the end, we went to St Gregory at Grand Plaza Parkroyal hotel for their international and seafood buffet :).
Oops... time is running out... I am going for my detailed scan at 20 weeks and visit to my gynae in 5 minutes... Later all...

Sunday, 8 Jan 2006 - My birthday :)

My family celebrated my birthday for me at home :). My mum went to the market in the morning to prepare the ingredients for steamboat. When I woke up, I went to Cold Storage to get more vegetables, fish and prawns for the steamboat. My hubby went to collect a banana cake from Bengawan solo.

My mother in law came with 1kg of vegetables and some prawns. My dad came in from JB with some "fu zhou" fishballs. My brother bought me an awesome chocolate banana cake from Secret Recipe. Yum... My friend gave me a beautifully decorated chocolate, fruit cake. Wow... I had 3 cakes for my birthday :). We started our steamboat lunch from about 1pm and finished at about 5pm. Yum yum... very full... I had two slices of the chocolate banana cake :).

My dear hubby bought me a Gucci bag as my birthday present. haha... I thought he told me the Mont Blanc watch he bought for me just before Christmas is for Christmas, and my birthday already... ahhem... we reserved a LV bag though... maybe that's for me for carrying baby... kekeke...

Friday, 6 Jan 2006 - Gynae's checkup.

Today, I had my appointment with Dr. Chew for a checkup. I am 17 weeks pregnant now. I have gained 1kg in 3 weeks. I thought I could have gained more since I had been feasting on so much not so healthy food over the festive season. Doc did a 3D ultrasound scan to see my baby :). Doc also gave us a printout of the scan to keep :). We saw baby's head, arms, legs :).
My blood pressure is normal, blood sugar is normal too, haemoglobin count is also in the normal range at 12.3. But doc said it will be good that my haemoglobin count can be higher. Oops... Then doc asked if I do eat red meat. I told doc that I dun eat a lot of meat already. No milk, no eggs for me. I mainly eat pork, and very little if I do eat. I mainly eat vegetables and fruits. Doc said I gotta rely on supplements already since I dun eat a lot of meat. hmm... Can meat really improve my red blood count???
Then I had my blood drawn by the nurse in the clinic. Ouch... quite painful though. I had 3 tubes of blood drawn from my arm. One is for triple test, the other two for the normal full blood test for preggie...
My hubby paid quite a bit during this visit... $20 for the haemoglobin test, $25 for the blood sugar test, $120 for the full blood test, $140 for the triple test, $90 for the scan at 20 weeks.

After the visit to gynae, we went to Paragon for dinner at Thai Express, and another shopping spree :). I think we both were intolerant to some ingredients in the fish tomyam we had. My hubby had rashes on his forehead and cheeks immediately after the meal. I had rashes all over my body at nite when I was about to sleep...

4 Jan 2006

Last Wednesday, I was very sad that I have outgrown most of my clothes, and did not have much selection of clothes to wear when I go out. It seems like I could not fit into everything in my wardrobe suddenly within a week. It's amazing at the rate I am growing... So I started my shopping spree.

I met my friend for lunch at Indinine cafe at Suntec sky garden. We had a chat and then we went to MNG for a quick look. I saw some babydoll tops and dresses which I can consider wearing during my pregnancy :). Then I rushed off to Mt Elizabeth hospital to meet my cousin who's seeing her oncologist for a review.

After that, I went around shopping at Paragon and Takashimaya :). I went to two of the maternity shops at Paragon. The clothes are not bad, but a bit on the expensive side I feel... Then I went to Takashimaya to shop. Tommy Hilfiger was having sale so I tried some of the stretchy shorts, skirts and babydoll top. When I tried on one of the top, I looked so pregnant! I was surprised how the cutting of clothes can affect how big my tummy will look! Gosh... My tummy looked so big. Of course, I did not buy that top. Next I went to A/X to see if there's anything that I can fit in, but nothing much. I was tempted to get a stretchy top, but I doubt it will last me very long, so did not get that. Then I went to MNG. I searched through all the racks and got a number of tops, skirts and dresses to try on. My hubby met me at MNG after knocking off from work. In the end, I bought a drawstring pants and a babydoll top :). Then we went for dinner at Mos Burger. After that, off we went to John Little at Somerset. We wanted to get a set of "lock n lock", but it was sold out. I went to the bra section and tried on many bras, but nothing suited me. I tried till they announced that they were going to close for the day.

Christmas...

On Christmas day, I had a party at my home with my hubby's colleagues. I did most of the cooking. It was a busy day for me. I started to prepare to cook once I woke up in the morning. Then my mum came to help me in the afternoon. I cooked spaghetti with vegetarian tomato sauce, roast baby potatoes with butter and herbs, roast pork chop with apple, garlic bread, mixed steam vegetables, vegetable salad with thousand island sauce, cheese sausages, grilled chicken wings with honey and black pepper... Luckily, I have already shopped for the ingredients, ready for cooking. Cutting the vegetables can take quite a while... My hubby was busy setting up the christmas tree. Quite a last minute preparation though...

During the dinner, most of his colleagues are avoiding carbo intake. hahaha... They said that they are trying to slim down. But the salad was almost untouched. The spaghetti and meat were almost finished. hmm...

One of hubby's colleague brought along his one month old daughter. It's her first time going out of her house. She was dressed in a cute little dress. She's a quiet and cute baby.

We had gifts exchange and we ended at almost midnite...
