Today, I had my appointment with Dr. Chew for a checkup. I am 17 weeks pregnant now. I have gained 1kg in 3 weeks. I thought I could have gained more since I had been feasting on so much not so healthy food over the festive season. Doc did a 3D ultrasound scan to see my baby :). Doc also gave us a printout of the scan to keep :). We saw baby's head, arms, legs :).
My blood pressure is normal, blood sugar is normal too, haemoglobin count is also in the normal range at 12.3. But doc said it will be good that my haemoglobin count can be higher. Oops... Then doc asked if I do eat red meat. I told doc that I dun eat a lot of meat already. No milk, no eggs for me. I mainly eat pork, and very little if I do eat. I mainly eat vegetables and fruits. Doc said I gotta rely on supplements already since I dun eat a lot of meat. hmm... Can meat really improve my red blood count???
Then I had my blood drawn by the nurse in the clinic. Ouch... quite painful though. I had 3 tubes of blood drawn from my arm. One is for triple test, the other two for the normal full blood test for preggie...
My hubby paid quite a bit during this visit... $20 for the haemoglobin test, $25 for the blood sugar test, $120 for the full blood test, $140 for the triple test, $90 for the scan at 20 weeks.
After the visit to gynae, we went to Paragon for dinner at Thai Express, and another shopping spree :). I think we both were intolerant to some ingredients in the fish tomyam we had. My hubby had rashes on his forehead and cheeks immediately after the meal. I had rashes all over my body at nite when I was about to sleep...
