Rain rain rain...

Hello bloggers... It's me... Aloysius... exercising my mouth, doing "goldfish". lol...

It has been raining non-stop since yesterday. Pitter-patter-pitter-patter all day, all nite... And today, I was so cranky and refused to eat, till my por-por put me at the window to watch the MRT, buses, cars, and falling rain... Then I finished the bowl of mashed pumpkin.

After I have finished, my mommy tried to take some pictures of me... :)

Mommy's say now:

Aloysius was a bit cranky today. Dunno what's wrong. Could it be growth spurt?? Maybe... He woke up for milk almost the whole nite last nite. He has started to bite my me during feeding since Sunday. I think he's a very good and understanding boy. I told him that it hurts every time he did that. Today, he will suckle and halfway, will suck his fingers. I think he's trying to sooth his gums by not hurting me... He seems to have grown heavier overnite. And his thighs seems to have grown bigger this morning. Maybe that explains for his frequent waking last nite.

I am trying to wean Aloysius off latching on too. It's not an easy journey. Perhaps, I have not been very determined in weaning. I am enjoying the latching on time with Aloysius. It's a special kind of bonding which I do not know how to put in words. I started with expressing milk to bottle feed. However, Aloysius refused and cried very very hard with tears. Furthermore, I started to have badly engorged and leaking breasts again. So now, I will stop expressing. Starting from today, I will replace one feed with formula milk. hmm... selecting a FM is another consideration. After reading some books, I dun wanna feed Aloysius cow's milk. I will go for soy based FM. So far, in Singapore, we can get Friso Soy, Isomil, or Prosobee. Each have their pros and cons. Aloysius was on Friso Soy at birth, but there's sucrose. Prosobee does not contain any sugar in any form, but it does not contain those AA, DHA... Isomil also contains some form of sugar. It's the most expensive cos it contains those "in" ingredients like AA, DHA and a different kind of vegetable oil. These are said to be the building blocks for brains and eyes. hmm... most likely I will be getting Isomil. For now, I will give him Friso Soy first... with added Hunza Vitality Plus, and Indinine... :) His milk tastes very nice though... add a few more dollars to Aloysius' formula milk... I want Aloysius to be like my friends' kids... very smart, fit and strong...

Aloysius can sit unsupported now and play with his toys. He will still topple backwards sometimes. He can go into crawling position from sitting position now. He's trying to stand from crawling position though. He loves to crawl to the dining chair, and touches the legs of the chair...

Aloysius' jacket was gone :( We dropped it somewhere near the swimming pool at Tanah Merah Crest. Nobody returned it. It was a new Levis jacket. It was supposed to be one of his layer when we go to the UK in February 07. January and February are usually the coldest month of the year in the UK. hmm.. nevermind... Can always get a nicer one... :)

Aloysius at 6 months and 1 week old.

It's avocado week for Aloysius :) He does not seem to like mashed potato though. Last Sunday, when I was feeding him with the mashed potato, he cried. He wanted to latch on. In the end, there was a mess for me to clean. The sofa, his legs, hands, chair, floor, and my face, all have potato... How I got this mess??? Well, when I fed him, he dun wanna swallow, and he blew out whatever is in his mouth... To take it positively, this stage will pass soon...

Aloysius can crawl pretty fast now. hmm... this reminds me to capture it in video :) He's now crawling with only his left hand to pull, and right leg to kick. His right hand will be supporting his body up. The ideal crawling will be cross pattern. I have no idea how to correct that though... ***scratch *** scratch*** He will zoom around in the living and dining room. He's now a little explorer. Usually, he will play with his wobbly roller toy. It will accidentally roll a bit further and he will "chase" after it. It has a round top which Aloysius loves to taste. This toy is really good to encourage him to crawl. Sometimes, he will play with his "Percy" train too. The train can also move easily. And hence, making him chase after the train too. I will put several toys spread out around the living room, so that he will not be bored. He can crawl to whichever toy he fancy at any moment in time. These will keep him busy for a while.

Yesterday, he crawled under his high-chair and was so happy. He smiled at my mum. It seems like an achievement to him. He is starting to move things now. hmm... Gotta keep all the dangerous articles from his reach already. He also tried to open the hanging cupboard. I guess very soon, he will be tearing the old newspapers in there.

Aloysius can also stand from sitting position with support. He has been practising that during his bathing time for a few weeks. He's not very skilful in that yet. Someone gotta be around when he does that, cos he will fall forward.

I dunno if he's teething or whether it's a growth spurt going on. He has been waking up every few hours at nite for milk. When I tried not to feed him, he will cry even louder. I thought he wanna suck for comfort, but it does not seem like it. He really suck and drink milk. I cannot bear to wean him off the breast now :( If I really want him to sleep through the nite, I can follow Shichida's method and practice the 5 minute suggestion thing. Just talk to baby repeatedly what you wanna change just before he's sleeping or when he just slept.

5 min suggestion for sleeping:

My friend shared with me regarding the 5 minute suggestion for her kid to sleep through the nite.

"Aloysius, Aloysius, you are a very good boy. Mommy and daddy need to rest at nite. You are an understanding boy. You can sleep through the nite. Mommy and daddy love you."

She asked me to repeat these for 5 minutes. hmm... On one side, I want Aloysius to sleep through the nite. On the other side, I dun mind him waking up at nite for feed cos he need to drink more milk to grow. Maybe it's the two-sided me that I have not been successful in that. And I did not tell him these daily :P. Maybe it's because of my mindset that it still haven't work...

Just5 program - Slimming in 5 days!

WBG has just newly launched a slimming program called "Just5". This program is favourable to people who are not ready for the full juicing program, which many people are. I have several friends who had went through this program. Some did it for 5 days, and some did it for 10 days. hmm... The results are amazing!! Imagine yourself losing a few kilograms in just 5 days?? It's a big WOW, rite?? WOW!! It's not water loss too, cos you will drink lots of water with the Just5 package. And I would say, it's cheap... Worth a try if you are interested. Let me know if you are, or email to indinine@gmail.com.

Mum's and sis's 14 day rejuvenation program.

My mum and my sis just started a 14 days rejuvenating juicing program yesterday. There are several options, and they chose the intensive program. They forego the easiest option. It will take lots of determination to complete it successfully :). I did a 28 days juicing program last year with the encouragement of my leaders and partners in WBG, just before I got this successful and stress free pregnancy with Aloysius :). Juicing did help me, and I am really thankful to my friend who introduced this to me :)

My sis wanna lose some weight and clear the toxic in her body. She just came back from America last week. She had been travelling around Europe since Feb06 and came back in Oct06. Then she went to San Francisco to take a professional wedding planning course. She's now a professional wedding planner :).

As for my mum, she wanna do it for her health. My mum has been contemplating it since the beginning of this year, cos people with diabetes should not go on juicing without supervision.
hmm.. during the juicing program, for people with enough "energy", there will be recovery symptoms. For my mum, she was very tired yesterday. This is due to acidic body constitution. A few days ago, my mum had an iris scan at WBG. It was shown that she has acidic body constitution. Iridology is another topic on its own :) It's very interesting though... ahhem... I also had my iris scanned... I gotta continue to work hard in improving my health.

As for my sis, she went to the toilet 6 times yesterday! Wow.. It's not the watery kind of poo during diarrhoea.. She told me it's solid and smelly kind.. lol... eeekss... I shall not describe more here. The thought of it is making me puke now though I have not had my lunch. hee... It must have been her food indulgence during her travels for 10 months! Or rather, 11 months. When she handed in her resignation letter, she had lots of breakfasts, lunches and dinners with many many colleagues and contacts for the whole month... She was stuffed...

I believe many of you will ask next... "What's this juicing program all about??" Let me answer this briefly. If you want more information, do read up from books :). Let me know if you wanna know the titles... I have several books on juicing :)

Juicing is a detoxification program. It's usually not recommended to be on the program from more than a week, and only once a year. This is due to nutrients deficiency. We followed the method from Dr. George Lim, the founder of WBG. He's a health consultant and learnt from Dr. Bernard Jensen, the father of holistic health from America.

Some may ask, how come we can go on a juicing program that is more than 7 days??
During juicing, apart from the carrot and green apple juice, we took Indinine, Vitality Plus and Fibre plus. Vitality plus has a balanced nutrients for what we need daily and it's organic. Indinine gives our body "energy" to detox and slim down faster. There are also people I know who were on this juicing program for 2 months. The record is 90 days. For variation in the juice, we will add beetroot, lemon or ginger.

hee.. I feed Aloysius both Indinine and Vitality Plus too :). hmm... it gonna be another topic on why I feed Aloysius these... Briefly, and most importantly, it's for his brain growth. Baby's brain grow the most in their first 3 years.

Some may also ask, "Is it possible not to eat??"
It depends on one's determination. From all the cases that I had supervised, the most difficult period is the first 4-5 days, plus the recovery period. Many asked: Will I feel hungry?? Will I become weak?? etc etc... :)

I think I gotta stop here... Gotta do my work already... Lastly, and most importantly, juicing is not for people with diabetes without supervision. It can be deadly... Will share more on the minute details on juicing when I have more time...

"Health is wealth." But can "Wealth buy health?" Not all the time, isn't it? :)

Wish everyone in the world: Health and Wealth :)

Aloysius' growing up :)

Today, there's more exciting things introduced to Aloysius. I started to feed Aloysius with boiled pumpkin with some breast milk :). He enjoyed his feed though. I searched through the storeroom for a plastic spoon and bowl. And not forgetting the rubbery bib from Aprica too :) He was very cute during the feed. He will lean forward and try to hold my mum's hand to feed himself. I fed him three 1cm cubes of pumpkin. He ate about two-third and was full...

I have decided to start feeding him with diluted carrot juice, and steam fruits and vegetables such as pumpkin, local sweet potato, carrots, apples, bananas, etc. At the later stage will be blended brown rice and oatmeal.

Today, I also found an Avent sippy cup in the storeroom to feed him some water :) He drank 60ml of water from that! Yeah... Water feeding gonna be easier now, since he knows how to suck from the sippy cup. I might wanna feed him milk in sippy cup too, cos I read that teat will affect speech development. Shichida recommends by 8 months, baby should not be drinking from milk bottles. I haven't seen babies around me being weaned off the milk bottles at such a young age. hmm... let me try and see if it will work :)

Aloysius can crawl quite a distance now. However, we need to get some toys near enough for a couple of kicks, then he will go for it. If the toy is too far, he will rather find something nearer to crawl to... This morning, I gave him a toy. He played with it, and it rolled forward. He crawled forward to get it again. Then he dropped it again forward, and he crawled again... hahaha... Very nice to "self-entertain" himself for quite a while and crawling on the floor. He has been trying to lift himself on his hands and legs. So far, he has been successful for only a few seconds. He's building up his strength :). And also building up his strength to stand up on his own from sitting position.

Aloysius also knows which is his right hand and left hand :). He wanted my sis to carry him yesterday. My sis asked him to give her his left hand, then his right hand. He seems to know which is which! I was surprised. This morning, I also did that... He gave me his right and left hand accordingly :) hmm... now, I am slowly seeing some small "results". Since birth, I have been telling him his left and right hands, legs, ears, eyes, shoulders, etc. during bathing times, breast feeding time, diaper changing time... hee... I read these tips from one of Shichida books, so I just followed :)

His doting daddy bought him two sets of "Thomas and friends" rail and road sets. We had put the smaller set togather and he enjoyed watching the trains go round and round the tracks :) Sometimes, he will wanna touch the moving trains. He also has a bigger "Percy" and loves it now. We also got him 6 story books from the "Thomas and friends" series.
